If you are feeling inspired by the July/August Staff Picks, Dear Summer: Letters in Literature, here are some websites that facilitate and encourage letter writing.
Postcrossing is an international project in which one exchanges postcards with strangers around the world.
Sendsomething.net is a place to connect with other people looking for pen pals.
InCoWriMo and
Lettermo are annual challenges to send a piece of mail every day during the month of February.
I have tried all of these with great success, but please share any other correspondence sites in the comments below! If you are interested in going beyond letters or postcards,
redditgifts hosts regularly scheduled themed gift exchanges.

In 2014, my children used the project to send a house warming card to their grandparents who had recently relocated.

If these resources inspire you, I would love to see the results. Please share your creative correspondence adventures in the comments below!
