Gillian Rothchild

Gillian Rothchild is coming to the library world as a second career. For a decade, Gillian worked as a licensed veterinary technician, providing nursing care to dogs, cats, and other companion animals.

In addition to her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology, which she earned from LaGuardia Community College, Gillian holds a B.A. in Psychology from Hunter College, and a certificate in Labor Studies from the Murphy Institute. She is currently working towards her MLS at Queens College. She also volunteers with the Croton Free Library, creating and leading programs for middle school aged library users, and serves as president of the Queens College Library and Information Studies Student Association (QCLISSA).

When Gillian is not at work or school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and other family and friends, cooking, reading, crocheting, hiking, and foraging for mushrooms, and other cool plants.
