Rachel is a Library Associate at the Gottesman Libraries, with a specialization in children's literature and K-12 curriculum. You may have seen Rachel at the services desk. She began work with the Gottesman Libraries in the summer of 2015, and has since taken part in numerous curation projects and research guides. She then served as Assistant Research and Information Librarian at the Gottesman Libraries and has worked with countless members in assisting in finding materials, formulating reference queries, sharing resource recommendations, or just having a friendly chat as respite from a busy semester. Her philosophy is that there is joy in learning through collaboration, and she hopes to enact that wherever she goes.
Rachel is an MLIS candidate at Queens College with a focus on library media specialist certification. She hopes to one day work in a public school library, helping students discover the wonder of exploring information and supporting other teachers and administration in their classroom and curriculum needs. She believes in advocating for information literacy instruction for even the youngest learners - after all, knowledge is power, and exploration is the key that unlocks it!
